Farrier Services.

My commitment is to achieve balance and support of your horse through proper hoof care to ensure their health and soundness. When horses are being trained, we always work with the way nature designed them to perform. It is no different with their feet. I strive to get your horses' feet functioning the way nature designed them to work by providing equilibrium around the coffin bone, establishing proper breakover, and engaging the back of the foot. I would love the chance to earn your business! Please give me a call and see how I can help your horse.

SIDE VIEW OF THE HOOF CAPSULE

Here we can see the inner foot and the hoof capsule. It is important to notice the distortion on the outer foot which affects the inner foot causing pain and discomfort to the horse. The frog, sole, and hoof capsule all grow from the inner foot.

Note: Healthy hooves can vary depending on the environment the horse is living in and the terrain they regularly encounter.

VIEW OF A PERFECT FOOT

(right photo)

  • 1 3/4 inch well-developed heel buttress

  • Straight coronary band extending to the back of the foot

  • An even 3/4 inch sole from front to back

Most distortions come from the back half of the foot. Understanding the relationship between the inner foot and the hoof capsule is vital to the health and overall soundness of the horse.
